The long road here
From a market stall to your doorstep
Five years, one folding table at a time. This is how the studio grew — and the promises we made along the way that still hold.
- 2019
A stall, a folding table, forty roses
Pushpa Vatika began as a Saturday stall at the Jhamsikhel market — forty roses from a Kirtipur grower, brown paper, twine and a borrowed card table. By noon we'd sold out and taken twelve orders for the next week.
- 2021
The studio on Loaneling
We moved into a sunlit first-floor studio, added a wrapping bench and a card-writing desk, and started sourcing from the first ten independent makers — potters, printers and woodworkers around Lalitpur.
- 2022
The card atelier
Customers started asking us to write the words too. So we learned: a fountain pen, chest-height paper and no hurry. Today every gift leaves with a handwritten card — your words, our ink.
- 2024
Valley-wide, still hand-finished
Same-day runs inside Ring Road and next-day trips valley-wide — but nothing left the studio until it's photographed, so you see the finished gift before the recipient does.
- Today
Gifts that speak from the heart
Thirty-four artisan partners, a small team of wrappers and writers, and one rule we've kept since the stall: if we wouldn't gift it ourselves, it doesn't leave the studio.
What we stand for
Three rules from the stall days
They're painted above the wrapping bench, so we read them every morning.
Sourced close to home
Roses from Kirtipur growers, ceramics from Thimi kilns, paper from Bhaktapur. Short journeys mean fresher gifts and fairer prices for the people who make them.
Wrapped by hand, written by heart
No pre-printed cards, no cellophane. Every order is wrapped at the bench and written at the card desk — then photographed so you see exactly what will be received.
We make it right
If a gift arrives late, bruised or not as promised, we re-make and re-deliver it at our cost. Gifting carries enough worry already; our part shouldn't add to it.
The hands behind your gifts
Makers we know by name
A few of the thirty-four independent craftspeople and bakers who make what leaves our studio.
Kirtipur
Crochet bouquets & keepsake blooms
Every rose and sunflower is crocheted over three evenings — petals first, then the wrap.
Bhaktapur
Engraved wood — frames, nameplates & lamps
Seasoned saal wood, hand-routed lettering, and a coat of beeswax he mixes himself.
Pulchowk
Bento cakes & celebration bakes
Small-batch sponge, Swiss meringue buttercream, and hand-piped messages in her own script.
How a gift comes together
Three steps, zero assembly lines
- 1
You choose & write
Pick the gift and the wrap style, then type the card words — or ask us to help you find them.
- 2
We wrap & photograph
The bench wraps it, the card desk writes it, and you get a photo of the finished gift before it travels.
- 3
It arrives, they smile
Same-day inside Ring Road, next-day valley-wide — with a delivery photo the moment it's handed over.
